Bringing Health, Fitness, and Community to Men and Women in Recovery

A Note from Recovery RX

Hello Friends,

October and November have been months marked by courage, service, and powerful moments of transformation. From within the walls of our sober living homes to the communities spanning Florida, your support continues to transform lives in ways that only God can orchestrate.

Together, we are proving once again: hope moves, healing multiplies, and recovery grows where community shows up. We want to share what we’ve been up to and how you, our community, have continued to show up in incredible ways

October Highlights

Serving at The Church of Eleven22

Our men participated in a service opportunity at The Church of Eleven22. It was full of lifting others up, listening, helping, and giving back. There is something beautifully holy about serving others while you’re still healing.

At Recovery RX and Comeback Recovery Homes, we see it every day:

  • Healing happens when you serve.

  • Growth happens when you give.

  • God restores us as we pour into others.

St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office Re-Entry Fair

This October, Comeback Recovery Homes and Recovery RX were honored to attend the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office Re-Entry Fair, where men nearing release met with organizations offering stability, support, and a fresh start.

At the fair, we were able to:

  • Share information about our sober living homes

  • Offer guidance for those ready to rebuild

  • Answer questions about recovery, accountability, and next steps

  • Remind people that their past does not disqualify their future

Every conversation was a seed planted, a small moment of connection that often became the beginning of a comeback story.

Fundraising Highlights

A Coast-to-Coast Run for Recovery

This November, something incredible happened: Jordon Englund completed the Double Across Florida 400. which is 400 miles coast to coast in 159 hours, 50 minutes, and 10 seconds.

Despite tendonitis, back injuries, macerated feet, and more, Jordon pushed through every mile. What fueled him? His heart for sobriety and the mission of Recovery RX.

Jordon raised $2,000 in support of our programs. We are incredibly grateful for his endurance, dedication, and belief in what we do.

His journey is proof that: Even when everything hurts, purpose can carry you the distance.

Fundraising Spotlight: A Community That Moves Mountains

On October 16th, we gathered for our biggest night of the year for Scars Under the Stars, our annual flagship fundraiser that helps keep our homes running, supports scholarships, and fuels the opening of new recovery homes.

But this night is more than an event. It’s where generosity meets purpose, where stories break chains, and where the foundation for restored lives is laid. And this year, God moved through this community in powerful ways.

Total Raised Over the Last Two Years: $179,068

Through Scars Under the Stars, private donors, supporters, and friends like you, we have collectively raised $179,068 toward expanding recovery housing for men and women across St. Johns County. That means we’re now only $20,932 away from fully funding the next chapter of hope, healing, and restoration.

This Year’s Impact: $97,068 Raised

This year’s Scars Under the Stars event alone raised an incredible $97,068, funds that will help us open our next women’s sober living home, The House of Hope.

Named by the Shee Family, this home will serve as a place of refuge, renewal, and purpose for women seeking a second chance at life. Because of your giving hearts, this vision is becoming a reality, and the women’s home will soon open its doors.

Thank You for Making It Possible!

We are endlessly grateful for every hand, heart, and prayer that made this possible:

  • The St. Augustine community

  • Our generous sponsors

  • The Tringali Barn + Chris Shee

  • Chef Michael Lugo

  • Sheriff Rob Hardwick

  • Commissioner Clay Murphy

  • Our incredible board members

  • Faith and community leaders

  • Every volunteer, donor, and supporter

Because of your generosity, hope has a home, and now, a new one is on the way.

One Year Since the Home Arrived

On October 30th, we celebrated a milestone close to our hearts: one year since the delivery of the men’s Comeback Recovery Home, the D. McDougal House.

If these walls could talk, they’d speak of:

  • Tears and breakthroughs

  • Quiet surrenders and late-night prayers

  • Chains breaking

  • Men choosing a new path

When the home arrived last year, quiet, empty, and full of possibility, we had only faith, a vision, and a community that believed transformation was worth fighting for. Since then, we’ve witnessed:

  • Jobs gained

  • Families rebuilt

  • Identities restored

  • Men praying for one another

  • Lives forever changed

We cannot wait to celebrate the official one-year opening anniversary on January 17th, a full year of God’s work made visible.

Welcoming Joe Hill — Our New Men’s House Manager

Meet Joe Hill, the newest House Manager for our Comeback Recovery Home.

Joe’s story is a testament to the truth that surrender leads to strength. From finding hope inside our homes to now guiding others toward theirs, Joe leads with compassion, accountability, and purpose. We are incredibly proud to have him on our team.

His life is living proof of what recovery, faith, and community can do.

How You Can Continue to Help

Our mission doesn’t stop when the events end; it continues every single day inside our recovery homes, gyms, and communities. Your ongoing support helps us create spaces where transformation becomes possible.

Here’s how you can make a difference:

1. Give Monthly or One-Time

Your donations directly fund:

  • Safe and stable sober living homes

  • Fitness and recovery programs that rebuild confidence

  • Transportation, groceries, and job resources for residents

  • Scholarships for men and women rebuilding their lives

Even $25 a month helps keep the lights on, the fridge full, and hope alive.

As we approach the end of the year and Giving Tuesday (December 2nd), your gifts make a powerful impact.

Every contribution, big or small, helps us finish strong and begin the new year with the resources needed to expand recovery housing and change more lives.

2. Sponsor a Resident

Your sponsorship helps cover housing, gym memberships, and essentials for individuals taking their first steps toward sobriety. This isn’t just about rent, it’s about restoring dignity and purpose.

3. Volunteer or Partner

Whether you’re a local business, church group, or individual, your time and skills matter. Join us at events, mentor residents, or help us expand awareness of recovery resources.

To learn more or get involved, reach out through our website:

4. Share the Story

Every post, share, and conversation helps break stigma and spread hope. Follow us, tag us, and help us reach more people who need to know that recovery is possible.

Following both accounts helps us grow the mission and reach new hearts.

5. Shop With Purpose

You can also support our mission through everyday shopping.

By purchasing from our Amazon Wish List, you help provide daily essentials and supplies for residents in our homes.

What Your Support Does

Every dollar, every prayer, and every act of service builds something real:

  • It keeps our homes open for men and women who have nowhere else to go.

  • It funds life-changing programs built around fitness, faith, and accountability.

  • It gives families a chance to rebuild.

  • It helps turn rock bottom into rising again.

When you give, you don’t just donate, you join someone’s comeback story.

Closing Remarks

We remain deeply grateful for you; our friends, supporters, prayer warriors, and partners in this mission.

Your belief in this work continues to restore lives, rebuild families, and remind us that redemption is always possible.

“Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.”— Ephesians 3:20-21

With gratitude and love,

The Recovery RX + Comeback Recovery Homes Family
