Bringing Health, Fitness, and Community to Men and Women in Recovery

Hi friends,

February was a month of movement, milestones, and answered prayers. From new community partners to powerful sobriety anniversaries and the opening of the Women’s House of Hope, we’ve seen again that recovery is built one relationship, one decision, and one act of generosity at a time.

Thank you for being part of this story!

Community Connections:

Our team had several opportunities to connect with others serving the recovery community:

Pam attended Sophros Recovery on February 12 and Friends in the Field on February 13, strengthening relationships with providers and partners who share a heart for long-term recovery support.

Joe and Pam participated in the Care Connect Corresponding Meeting on February 27, continuing to build coordinated, wraparound support for the people we serve.

These touchpoints help ensure that no one has to navigate recovery alone and that our community stays connected, informed, and supported.

Staff + Personal Wins

We also celebrated some important personal milestones within our team:

February 5 – Shawne’s Birthday

Our Media & Marketing Manager, Shawne, turned 37 this month! If you haven’t already, feel free to wish her a happy (belated) birthday and thank her for the countless behind-the-scenes hours she pours into telling the stories of recovery, hope, and second chances.

February 10 – Joe’s One-Year Sobriety Anniversary

We celebrated ONE YEAR of sobriety for Joe! One year of choosing himself, showing up, and doing the hard, holy work of healing. Joe is a living example of what can happen when faith, community, and willingness meet.

Over the past year, Joe has rebuilt his relationship with his daughter, reconciled with family, earned his Peer Support certification, and joined the Comeback Recovery Homes and Recovery RX team. His story reminds us that recovery is possible, hope is real, and no one has to walk this alone. Joe, we are so proud of you. Your story matters, and your courage is changing more lives than you know.

February 13 – Night to Shine Jacksonville

Shawne had the privilege of volunteering at Night to Shine Jacksonville, an unforgettable prom night experience for individuals with special needs, hosted by local churches in partnership with the Tim Tebow Foundation. From cheering on the red carpet to celebrating on the dance floor, it was a powerful reminder that every person deserves to feel seen, valued, and loved.

Serving our community goes beyond our own programs. Supporting other local charities and events is an important part of who we are, and we’re grateful for opportunities like Night to Shine to show up, give back, and celebrate alongside our neighbors.

If you’re involved with a local event or charity you love, reply and let us know so we can follow, encourage, and help share the good work you’re doing.

February 23 – Forging Better Humans Podcast

Our founder, Chad Belger, was a guest on the Forging Better Humans podcast to share his journey with substance use and the heart behind Recovery RX and Comeback Recovery Homes. We’re thankful for this new partner and the chance to share a message of hope, honesty, and community with a wider audience. Be sure to give Forging Better Humans a follow and listen in when you can.

House Updates: Doors Opening & Anniversaries

February brought some major housing milestones:

February 9 – Closed on the Women’s Sober Living Home (House of Hope)

We officially closed on the Women’s House of Hope! This home represents years of prayer, planning, and partnership, and we’re overwhelmed with gratitude for everyone who has helped bring this vision to life.

February 17 – One Year at the Men’s House

We celebrated the one-year anniversary of our first resident moving into the D. McDougal Men’s House. In twelve months, this home has become a place of stability, structure, and second chances for men learning how to live again in recovery.

February 26 – Women’s Home Ribbon Cutting & Donor Event

We hosted the ribbon-cutting and donor event for the Women’s House of Hope, celebrating with friends, partners, and supporters who helped make this home possible. There’s so much goodness from this day that we want to share, so be on the lookout: our next email will be a special follow-up with photos, stories, and detailed updates from the ribbon-cutting.

Sober Saturdays: Movement + Community

Yoga at Bozard Ford – February 14

We kicked it off with Sober Saturday Yoga at the Bozard Ford Employee Gym in St. Augustine, FL. So many of you showed up, moved, and built community with us in a beautiful, welcoming space. Your presence matters more than you know.

We are especially grateful to Bozard Ford, which opened its employee gym to us and helped create a space for movement, connection, and recovery. If you’re able, give them a follow and help us thank them for their support.

Iron Legion – February 28

We wrapped up the month with Sober Saturday at Iron Legion in Ocala, FL. From the first warm-up to the final high-fives, the energy in the room reflected why these mornings matter: people in all stages of recovery (and those who love them) moving together, encouraging one another, and choosing connection over isolation.

Iron Legion is a partner we’re incredibly grateful for! Please give them a follow and help us thank them for coming alongside this mission in Ocala.

February continued to show us that recovery is built one day at a time, through community, encouragement, and people willing to walk alongside one another.

Throughout the month, we witnessed so many meaningful moments: milestones celebrated, new opportunities created, volunteers stepping in to serve, and generous supporters helping turn houses into homes.

Each conversation, shared meal, donated item, and prayer reminds us that recovery is never meant to be walked alone.

Thank you for believing in second chances, showing up in practical ways, and walking this journey with us. We’re so grateful for you. Your continued kindness and generosity make it possible for men and women in our homes to rebuild their lives with support, dignity, and hope.

With gratitude, joy, and love,

The Recovery RX + Comeback Recovery Homes Family
