Our recovery living home, the D. McDougal house opened this past January. Within the first month, we had our first client move in. Flash forward another few weeks and clients number two and three have come to stay with us. Our entire staff, especially our house manager Everett, have worked tirelessly to make this home a place these men can feel safe and supported as they begin rebuilding. You, our community, have also showed up in such major ways for these guys. We cannot thank you enough and we have been consistently blown away all along this process.
Taking off has been a bit slower than we anticipated, but we're getting there. Due to delays beyond anyone's control (thanks hurricanes...), it was hard to pin down an open date, and therefore hard to market ahead of time. So, we have been hitting the treatment center circuit hard! We have been touring and presenting at many places from Jacksonville, to Crescent City, to Ormond, and of course, St. Augustine. Each place we go, we get to meet other fellow human beings who feel called to lift others up when they are at their lowest lows. It's been extremely moving.
If you know of any man coming out of treatment who needs a safe, supportive, structured for high accountability sober home, we hope you'll tell him about us. All of us at Recovery RX and Comeback Recovery Homes are ready and willing to talk to anyone who is transitioning into or out of treatment. We can help guide them and their loved ones to resources that will help them succeed. No one should have to suffer alone. Not when there's a whole community out here, ready and excited to help show them all the beauty of a life lived clean and sober.
