Hello Friends,
As we move into late summer, we’re constantly reminded of the hope, strength, and transformation happening because of your support. Recovery isn’t easy, but with community, purpose, and love, it’s possible. Thank you for being part of this journey with us.
Recent Wins: Filling Beds & Changing Lives
We’re thrilled to share that, if all goes well by the end of August, all nine beds at Comeback Recovery Homes will be filled, which means nine more individuals will have a safe, sober place to rebuild their lives. Please join us in sending prayers for continued strength and success for these men on their recovery journeys.
Our guys recently went back-to-school shopping for children in need, donating backpacks to local groups and supporting mothers in need:
Living Stone Outreach
Alpha and Omega Miracle Home
It’s moments like these that show how recovery sparks generosity and community care.
“I am continually in awe of the love and acceptance in the recovery community. It never ceases to amaze me how wonderful everyone in this field is. The representatives from treatment centers feel like brothers and sisters, and they even get to meet up with some and sit with them at church. I didn’t realize I would be gaining a community too, and I’m so grateful to be working alongside all the incredible people I’ve met in just a few months.”
- Pam, Development and Outreach Manager.
Workshop Highlight: Life Skills at Comeback Recovery Homes
One of the core parts of our program is offering life skills workshops, which are entirely free for our clients, and to support healing beyond just sobriety.
This month, we were fortunate to welcome Cynthia Keene, a skilled nutritionist, and her son Gabe, for a workshop on gut health. Cynthia shared valuable insights on how healing the body, especially the gut, is essential in early recovery.
She introduced the IN’s Circle of Life Tool, a visual guide helping clients reflect on areas like physical health, emotional well-being, relationships, and personal growth. This tool encourages balance and progress, showing that recovery is about nurturing the whole person and not just one part.
We are incredibly grateful to Cynthia, Gabe, and all the friends who support Comeback Recovery Homes with meaningful gifts. Together, we’re helping rebuild lives; one skill at a time.
“Since the workshop, the guys have started making healthier food choices, incorporating more nutritious meals into their daily routines, and understanding how small changes in their diet can support both physical and emotional well-being. It’s inspiring to see them take what they learned and put it into practice, showing that recovery truly includes caring for the whole body and mind.”

Recap on Sober Saturday: Ruck + Yoga
| August 16, 2025
We’re still sweating (and smiling) from Sober Saturday: Ruck + Yoga, which reminded us of what happens when community comes together.
Hosted by @NoWomanRucksAlone, with @pontevedraruckclub + @MorePerfectUnion as partners, this event united our community in support of Recovery RX and Comeback Recovery Homes, raising $941 🙌!
Here’s what that impact looks like:
$30 = 1 month gym membership for a client
$60 = covers a background check, the only admin fee we require
$75 = community outings (bowling, beach, movies, meals)
$100 = groceries for a week
$250 = rent for one week while someone settles in
It was so hot, we ended up having Florida Hot Yoga, complete with the soundtrack of crashing waves, ocean breeze, “fans” decided to have a power outage, and sunscreen was our yoga mats’ best friend. But despite the heat, everyone stuck it out, showed up, and moved together.
After yoga, we rucked down the beach and wrapped up at Southern Grounds for coffee, conversation, and connection; sharing more about the good things happening across all of our communities.
Moments like this are so powerful: sometimes it’s hard to show up, and some days we really don’t want to, but we do it for something bigger than ourselves. 💛
"During one of the darkest times in my life, losing my father, the outpouring of love, support, and presence from my friends, family, and community, along with God’s guidance, carried me through. It’s that experience of being held when I was at my weakest that drives me every day to show up for the ‘one more.’ God and Community saved me, and it’s why I will always be here to lift others in their journey. My passion and purpose are rooted in helping others heal, guiding them toward hope, and walking alongside them as they rebuild their lives. Every act of support, encouragement, or simply showing up reminds me that no one has to face their struggles alone—and it’s an honor to be part of that circle of care and restoration."
- Shawne Scott, Media and Marketing Manager of Recovery Rx and Comeback Recovery Homes, and Co-Founder of NO Woman Rucks Alone

Gratitude & Recognition
A heartfelt thank you to every donor, volunteer, and partner who has stood by Recovery RX this year. Your support lifts up those walking the hardest roads. Special thanks to ruck clubs, gyms, and local businesses who host fundraisers and events; your community spirit fuels ours.
"Leading some of the yoga events for Sober Saturday has been such a gift. My heart is so full when I see the love, support, and energy that people pour into Recovery RX and Comeback Recovery Home residents. I am truly honored to be a part of this work. Some days it’s hard, but those moments remind me that it’s not always about me—it’s about the people we serve, the lives we touch, and the community we build together. What our community gives isn’t just a donation—it’s hope, it’s resources to heal, and it’s building up our community one person at a time. Every act of support strengthens someone’s journey and reminds us all why showing up matters."
